A Love Affair with Hot Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (Szechuan Style)

March 31, 2017

My family is originally from Henan, a province located in the central China. Noddle is our traditional food. We normally cook it either in soup with different broth, or stir-fried in a wok with soy sauce.

Different to the dry yellow egg noodles which are very common in the UK, in central and North China, our noodles are preferred handmade. I remember when I was a little girl, my mum often made noodles by hand at home. Only take about half an hour, flour can be made to a delicious noodle soup.

The handmade noodle is very different to the yellow egg noodles. It tastes more cheerful, more chewy, with nature flour fragrance. More importantly, it is the taste of my hometown. A handmade noodle soup always ranks at the top of my favorite dishes. It is the real taste of China. This is also the reason why we insist on using fresh handmade noodle in our noodle dishes.

Backed to this spicy beef noodle soup, it is one of the most common fast food in China. It is utterly savory and mouthwatering. It is also the most favorite dish among our Chinese customers.

What makes this dish stands out? Handmade noodle is definitely an important part.  Besides the noodle, in my opinion, for any type of noodle soup, the soup base is another determinant. More than 20 ingredients - most of them are very uncommon, are used to make the beef broth. Once we get the soup ready, Pak Choi is used to completing the noodle soup. In China, normally we also add one five spicy egg in the dish.

This beef noodle soup is full of flavour and super tasty. Prepare yourself because this is very spicy. But of course we can make it match your taste.
